This meter was rescued from certain destruction by a client with an eye for the nostalgic and an appreciation for the simplicity of days gone by. The beauty of this double parking meter is in the timing mechanism and its simplistic approach to accepting coins and converting those coins into a visible indicator letting the user and the meter maid know how many minutes you will be legally parked. This particular meter accepts a quarter for one hour, a dime for 24 minutes and a nickel for 12 minutes. Any combination of coins adding up to two hours will work. The meters are actually wind up clocks so no external power is required. The more coins inserted the more the clock is wound. When the clock winds down a red flag pops up indicating a violation. The meter was completely disassembled, repaired, powder coated and reassembled. I added new locks with keys to complete the project.
